We’re thrilled to end the year by announcing that the Daytum app for iPhone and iPod touch is now available in the App Store.

The numerous features of the app are detailed on our about page and include:

add and edit offline
manage multiple accounts
access features quickly with swipe actions
graph your items within the app
save favorite graphs for quick reference
it’s free!

The iPhone app appears to be quite buggy, has crashed several times and doesn’t sync properly with the web site. Developer, pls contact me directly if you wish me to email you crash logs and, possibly, help beta test new versions of Daytum.

BTW, I’m just learning about Daytum, it appears to be something I’d want to use as a pro user, once the iPhone app is ironed out.

Maybe you can grant me somekind of a “Beta-Tester”-Access to the API, I really would like to develop a Android, a Symbian App for Daytum and a Windows Phone 7 App.

Loving Daytum and the app, but having all of the same issues that @webzilla is reporting. Duplicates only seem to be in the iPhone app, not on the web site. Also, trying to remove a duplicate from the app causes a crash and then the app continues to crash on open. Had to delete, reinstall and reimport my account.

  Hi Josh, the duplicate issue is bewildering and hard to reproduce, but we’re trying to narrow in on a fix for it. If you do see them again, you can quit the app and restart it and the duplicates will go away. – Nicholas.

Interesting, that worked. Just to clarify for others: closing the app by pressing the home button won’t clear the duplicates. You need to close the app then open the app history manager (double tap home) then quit the app by pressing and holding it’s icon in the app manager until they wiggle then tap the red minus sign over the Daytum app to quit it.

I’m having one random problem with the app on my iPod Touch. When I enter some values (such as monetary values that are entered to two decimal places), a small amount is added or subtracted from these values. For example, 12.34 becomes 12.34000…58789. This doesn’t happen for values like 1 or 0.5, and I don’t see this issue on the website.

Big Bug though:

When signing up, it redirects you to “daytum://” – please remember the activation email comes to an email client, this is not necessarily on the iPhone!!

Registration process fails.

Unless you access that activation email on an iPhone, that is.

Just downloaded the iPhone app, having not been familiar with the Daytum service, and I can see the potential. Have you considered having some sort of timer functionality, so that one can track time spent doing various activities? Thanks!

Really loving this service, the app is a great addition. In addition to the stability improvements for syncing mentioned by others, would love to see the folowing for Daytum:

- Option to sort by time/recent/latest
- Option to create displays that include data/category logic, or “include all -food- that is not -dairy-” etc.
- Multiple sizes for display types, charts
- Goal or Deadline support (timers?)

Is there a development log showing planned feature support? Sorry if I missed it elsewhere.

When I try to connect my account (username “spurious”) to the iphone app, it takes me through the “allow” screen and then starts to load my data, gets to 33%, and then quits. I’d love to use the app so I hope you can fix this issue.

every time I make an entry on the iphone app (running on my iPad) an error message says either “cannot save” or something like “cocoa error 155″. I have to press “ok” three times to make it go away. The entries are actually saved though. Would like error messages to stop.

Hi,
I’ve been having some problem with the app (1.0.3 version) on my ipod touch 4G.

1. When I add a new item through the website, on the app it appears as two items. One correct and one blank.
If I delete the latter, the former is deleted too.

2. If I add a new item through the app, on the website it appears on “Entries” list, but neither in “Item” one nor in his Categorie.

I’ve tried delete-reinstall, re-login and re-authorization but neither of these works.
Could you fix it, because otherwise the app is really great!

  If you are getting alerts that the app is not syncing, the app needs to be deleted and reinstalled.
  
  Unfortunately data in the app that hasn’t been synced to the website won’t be loaded into the app when you reinstall.

    I first noticed it when I put up a display on the homepage. Only 4 of the 20+ entries are showing up. If I click on ‘entries’ on the top right the entries made on the iphone are there; however, if I click on an entry made from the iphone (“Laps”) which shows up on the page rather than just showing me “Laps” entries it shows me just the category w/o any entries, as if there were no entries (consistent with the display not showing anything.)
    
    I made an entry from the www page yesterday; it was synched back to the Iphone app successfully and appears on the display. When I click on that entry on the web page I get 6 out of 28 entries showing up. I think these are the same ones that show up in the ‘display.’ I was expecting all the entries made on the phone to show up on the display.

I’m sure this has been asked a million times but I don’t see any answers anywhere: is there a more convenient way of submitting data to Daytum? The mobile app makes this marginally less sucky than having to type data into the full web site, but it’s still sucky. Does the Twitter mechanism still exist? I don’t see the previously mentioned settings in my account or settings page allowing me to enter my Twitter handle. Is there a web services or HTTP mechanism for me to do this? Requiring manual typing is tres lame.

Just downloaded the iPhone app based on raves from a friend. The app crashes 100% of the time when I try to edit an item’s number. I have to delete the item and create it again with the new number. Username is wmbenedetto, if that helps.

I have the iPhone app but it seems like it is not completely syncing with my account. I do see my latest entries, but de categories are not a like. They show a wrong name and not the right entries. And the items have a lot of doubles as well. Do you have an idea how I can fix this? Thanx
