An iPhone app would be great, especially if it could work offline and sync with Daytum the next time it picked up a network connection. For us poor, WiFi-dependent iPod touch users.

API

I guess in order to develop an iPhone app you kinda have to develop an API. If you develop an API then someone can develop an Android app too. And a Facebook app. And AIR and other Desktop apps. And other exciting ways to add your data to Daytum.

API FTW KTHNXBI

@fennablue - Totally in agreement, the social features will add another level of interest to the site that we're eager to integrate. - Nicholas.

Also about social features:

Someone mentioned it bringing in a lot of crap, which I don't think it will do. Seriously, your average myspacer has no use for this sort of site.

But I just thought again about how many people list food items...if we were able to friend and follow, etc., then we could watch people in Portland and where they're eating and ask what they think of it...or new beers we haven't heard of yet, etc. and so on.

I'm not thinking of social options like what you get at facebook and twitter and what have you. I'm thinking more about how that would pertain to Daytum specifically and our love for our data.

Someone said this place is like an island and it is. Other than the fact that it's easier for me to track stuff online, I could just make some nice excel sheets. Clearly, you have a market and a customer base, but I would like to see it expand more into a vast Daytum network.

Oh the data we could collect and monitor! It would be awesome.

I'm still waiting for social features. Every so often, I find a person on Daytum who seems really interesting or might follow something differently from my way...I'd like to be able to do more than bookmark that person. I'd like to be able to contact people.

Furthermore, what if a set of partners wanted to link their Daytum and follow each other's progress? That's currently impossible now. With the number of people following exercise, it seems this feature could be really great.

Also, what about groups? What if someone wanted to create a group of runners in Milwaukee or a nationwide group of environmentalists and track all their progress? Again, still not doable.

I think social features have far more benefits than just faving and friending. This could be a really interesting site to utilize social features.
